My last time talking about NYU, I promise.

Since wrapping my NYU class, I’ve had a lot on my mind about it. I can’t stop thinking about how rewarding the experience was.
When I was little, my favorite family vacations were to Disney World. I haven’t been in almost 8 years, and as I’ve gotten older, my interests have changed. I’ve outgrown princesses and kids’ movies as my entertainment. But, when I go back to Disney (eventually), I know I’m going to have the same amount of fun I did when I was in elementary school. Last night when I couldn’t sleep, I was thinking about this. Writing is my new Disney.
As I’ve aged, I’ve had a ton of different interests and career paths I’ve wanted to pursue. As I’ve gone through millions of different career paths and activities, writing has always been a personal hobby. Just like Disney, as I’ve aged, my love for it has always stuck with me.
I had always been told I was a good writer, and so I figured why not use that to my advantage? After I realized that, I got an Instagram ad for an NYU journalism class. I applied, got accepted, wouldn’t shut up about it to my friends, and the rest is history.
So, I’m going to make this week’s post into something along the lines of a really unnecessarily long Tony’s speech, and thank basically everyone I’ve ever known.
Thank you to Instagram for that random ad. Thank you to the NYU people for letting me into your program. Thank you to my parents for paying for it. Thank you to my friends who dealt with me constantly talking about it. Thank you to my amazing instructor for everything. Like literally EVERYTHING. #Estellefanclub. Thank you to the girls in my class for reading my work, for dealing with my Grammy’s predictions (I LITERALLY PREDICTED HARRY STYLES WOULD SHOW UP SHIRTLESS. I THINK HE HEARD ME).
Finally, thank you to Tay. I’m so thankful I messaged you on instagram and we became fast friends. Thank you for listening to my rants, proofreading my work a million times over, and for just being there. I’m so excited to continue writing with you at Boston University’s journalism program, and to live in a cute little apartment in the heart of a big city, writing our worries away.
Thanks for reading. See you again soon :)
